About the Job

The Electrical Technical Officer is a pivotal role that oversees both office and field-based planning, organizing, and coordination of resources via Council's web-based IT systems for various maintenance works.

When interacting with external service providers, this includes auditing of works and their paperwork as well as processing claims for payment.

  • Ensure all electrical work conducted is compliant with AS3000, Queensland Electrical Safety Act & Regulations, Electrical Safety Act Codes of Practice and Work Health & Safety Act.
  • Maintain a resource plan to ensure resources are balanced against workload and all works are completed within allotted timeframes.
  • Upon request, undertake repairs and maintenance duties (hands-on), providing your own 'hand tools of trade'.
  • Assist in the development and training of electricians & apprentices.
  • Prepare technical reports on operational issues including recommending a course of action.
  • Identify areas and actions within the planned maintenance scope that will improve the economical and operational life of plant and equipment.
We're Looking for People With:
  • A high level of competency in the use of web-based systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • You are proactive in maintaining and developing safe work practices.
  • Certificate III Engineering – Electrical / Electronic Trade.
  • Current Queensland approved Electrical Mechanic Licence.
  • Current Queensland C Class Driver's Licence.
  • General Construction Induction White Card.
