Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kinship Placement Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting Kinship carers – family and community members who step in to care for children when they need it most.

Your primary responsibility will be to work alongside carers and support services to ensure children remain connected to their culture, identity and community. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact through stable, nurturing placements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong, nurturing environments for Kinship Carers
  • Partner with families and community services to achieve common goals
  • Identify training needs and boost carer confidence to deliver optimal outcomes
  • Lead carer inductions and develop tailored support plans to address individual needs
  • Contribute to care planning and placement stability to ensure the best interests of the child
  • Help organise meaningful events for children and carers to foster a sense of community and belonging
  • Participate in an on-call roster for timely support and respond to urgent situations
  • Maintain accurate placement records and manage carer renewals to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in social or behavioural sciences, social work, or psychology
