About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Female Home Care Worker to join our team at Life Without Barriers. As a Home Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support to older Australians residing in the Southern Canberra suburbs. Your primary responsibility will be to assist clients in maintaining their independence and quality of life in their own homes.

This is a casual opportunity with hours between 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with no evening or sleepover shifts. You will be working with a dedicated leadership team to support you in your role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make a positive impact in their community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Domestic assistance, including meal preparation and light house cleaning
  • Community access to medical appointments and social activities
  • Personal care, including grooming and showering
  • Supporting clients with tasks and routines
  • Building positive relationships with clients


Skills & Experience

  • Passion for making a positive impact in the ageing community
  • Australian Driver's Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)

Successful candidates will be required to undergo relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check. We will discuss with and support you to meet these specified requirements as part of your recruitment and onboarding process if successful.

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
