As a process operator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of super-heated boilers, turbine generators, ash handling systems, and the bagasse system.

This position is based at our Pioneer Mill facility in North Queensland's picturesque Burdekin region, known for its stunning landscapes and vibrant community. The area offers an excellent lifestyle with a warm climate, beautiful beaches, and a range of recreational activities.

For approximately 10 months of the year, this permanent position operates on a continuous rotating shift roster due to cogeneration operations. For the remainder of the year, the role switches to a day work schedule with regular days off most Fridays.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Operate and Monitor Boiler Station: Ensure sufficient levels of steam drive alternators to generate power for factory operations and external demands.
  2. Provide Accurate Feedback: Offer regular and accurate updates to management on station performance.
  3. Develop Competencies: Achieve relevant sugar milling module competencies.
  4. Support Team Development: Assist in the professional development of boiler assistants.
  5. Emphasize Safety: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need a High Risk Work Licence for Turbine Operator (TO) and Advanced Boiler Operator (BA). While applicants with other high-risk work licences are desirable, we're prepared to provide training to those who show the right aptitude and fit.
