A compelling and engaging role in Public Events is available for a seasoned professional. This position involves managing high-profile events that promote the University's values and mission.

About the Role

The Program Manager, Public Events plays a key part in the Community Engagement team, delivering impactful public engagement activities that enhance the University's reputation. This role encompasses producing the Island of Ideas public talks series and supporting significant community engagement events across Tasmania.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to research, curate, promote, and produce the Island of Ideas public talks series, including content development, speaker procurement, and event communications.
  • Project manage public engagement events, ensuring safe and efficient logistics, technical production, and communication in partnership with relevant teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, establishing new partnerships and maintaining existing ones with long-term strategic partners within the community.
  • Liaise with the Communications Office to provide stories and arrange media releases for public engagement events.
Requirements
  • A degree with relevant professional experience; or an equivalent combination of extensive professional experience and education/ professional development in communications and engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful relationships with key stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects and deliver outcomes on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a geographically dispersed team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Benefits

This full-time, fixed-term position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including salary and superannuation. The total remuneration package will be up to $116,872.
