The Department of State Development seeks a highly skilled Program Manager to lead the Defence Supply Chain Uplift initiative. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting South Australian businesses in developing the capabilities necessary to qualify as part of future defence industry supply chains.
This role will focus on building South Australian defence supply chain capability in readiness for the AUKUS and Virginia Class Submarine programs scheduled for delivery over the next 25 years. To achieve this, the Program Manager will develop and foster close relationships with key international defence primes, South Australian businesses, and relevant state and commonwealth government agencies.
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and deliver programs of work that enable local suppliers to access future defence contracts. This requires a deep understanding of state and commonwealth defence policies, including the Australian AUKUS Submarine Industry Strategy, Defence Strategic Review, and Defence Industry Development Strategy.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess significant experience working in the defence sector or industrial supply chains. They should have an in-depth understanding of state and commonwealth defence policies and be able to prepare clear and concise presentations to various stakeholders.
The successful candidate will also have demonstrated ability to work under broad policy guidelines, determine priorities, plan, implement, evaluate, and manage tasks, projects, and research. They should be able to analyse, integrate, and report on data from multiple sources.
- Presentation skills to communicate effectively with senior defence officials, government representatives, and the business community.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
The Department of State Development offers a competitive salary range of $121,107 to $125,679 per annum, plus superannuation. In addition, the successful candidate will enjoy a variety of leave arrangements and access to great customised training and career development opportunities.
OthersThe role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE) with an initial 24-month term contract. A satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check will be required prior to employment.
