About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our Group Financial Control team at Challenger Limited. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, with a focus on financial control and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on financial control and accounting support to the Group Financial Control team.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day accounting of various corporate entities, including Challenger Group Services and Challenger Treasury Limited.
  • Assist with the accounting of Challenger's Performance Plan Trust and preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Participate in the group consolidation and sub-consolidations, performing key checks around retained earnings, equity, intersegment transactions, and account mappings.
  • Support the preparation of statutory and management reports, including cash flow reporting and reconciliation of operating cash flows to normalised profit results.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and evaluate key financial controls
  • Intermediate MS Excel experience, with the ability to analyse large amounts of data
  • Experience working in a large and complex financial services environment
  • Postgraduate accounting qualification (CA/CPA etc.) with post-qualification experience
  • Workday and/or Workiva experience an advantage
