About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced educator to take on the challenging and rewarding position of Assistant Head of Science at our esteemed institution.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching and learning, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of NESA Science syllabuses.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive Science curriculum that aligns with NESA standards and fosters academic excellence.
  2. Liaise with teachers to build the breadth and depth of Science programs and student outcomes, driving innovation and collaboration within the department.
  3. Assist in managing resources and ensuring efficient use of school facilities to support teaching and learning.
  4. Mentor and support staff to enhance their teaching practices and develop their professional capabilities.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to promote a love of Science and its relevance to our world, enhancing the overall educational experience.

Requirements:

  1. A degree-qualified teacher with significant experience in HSC courses, demonstrating expertise and enthusiasm for Science education.
  2. Proven leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate students and staff, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  4. Able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  5. NESA Accreditation number and details, including a Summary Statement outlining your qualifications and experience.
  6. Additional proof of identity may be required.
