The role of Information Management and Right to Information Manager is a key position within the Department, responsible for leading the management and release of information, including Right to Information applications and requests to access personal information. This includes ensuring compliance with legislation such as the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Personal Information Protection Act 2004.
The Information Management and Right to Information Manager oversees the operations of the Information Services Team, coordinating sensitive and complex information requests from various court and tribunals. They must ensure responses meet legislative and court-imposed timeframes and make delegated decisions under the RTI Act.
The role also involves developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and training resources to support consistent and legally compliant practices across the Department. Strategic engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including legal professionals, is essential to support policy development and monitor emerging issues.
The Information Management and Right to Information Manager provides specialist guidance, manages complaints, and contributes to continuous improvement in information governance and service delivery.
