Mine Data Technician

The role of Geospatial Data Specialist supports underground and surface mining operations at a leading institution in the field.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Supporting senior geospatial specialists and assisting mine surveyors in maintaining underground models, executing mine design, and reporting.
- Providing all necessary geospatial data for underground and surface mine operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company standards.
- Gaining proficiency in completing autonomous geospatial tasks, including surface and underground surveys.
- Assisting in calculations and computation of survey field work as per mine surveyor's requirements.
- Cleaning and maintaining geospatial equipment, including correct storage and checking for damage and faults.
- Maintaining detailed knowledge of supplies in stock and re-ordering through stores when supplies are low.
- Conducting prism monitoring surveys and data collection.
Requirements for Success:
- Tertiary qualification in Surveying or related field.
- Practical experience or vacation work is advantageous.
- Strong computer literacy skills and excellent communication skills with all levels of operation.
- A current and valid Manual Driver's Licence.
- A National Police Clearance valid within the last 12 months.
- Ability to pass pre-employment process, including medical and drug and alcohol screening, right to work checks, and provision of valid Australian national police clearance and Australian driver's licence (or ability to obtain).
