Pharmacy Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to provide technical support to our Pharmacy Department. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong interest in hospital pharmacy.

  • This role involves working in all areas of pharmacy practice, including dispensing, clinical, purchasing, inventory management and distribution activities.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to established protocols.

To be successful in this role, you will require sound understanding of dispensing, inventory, purchasing and store functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispensing medication and preparing prescriptions for patients.
  • Assisting pharmacists with clinical activities, such as patient counseling and medication therapy management.
  • Maintaining accurate records of stock levels, orders, and deliveries.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Certificate III in Pharmacy Technical Services or related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
