Your Role

As a Grounds Maintenance Officer, you will be essential in upholding the school’s outdoor areas and gardens to ensure they are safe, tidy, and visually appealing. Your duties may include:

  • Grounds Maintenance: Mowing, trimming, and fertilizing lawns and turf. Repairing and maintaining irrigation systems. Weeding, planting, and fertilizing gardens. Maintaining grounds equipment. Checking and adjusting security lighting.
  • Building Maintenance: Assisting with minor repairs as directed. Supporting contractors needing access to school facilities. Performing minor repairs on school property and equipment, including replacing tap washers, fixing leaking toilets, repairing windows, and basic painting as instructed.
  • Event Support: Assisting with marking sports fields and grounds. Helping with the setup and dismantling of tents and equipment for school events.
  • Safety Responsibilities: Evaluating equipment to identify any minor repairs needed. Assisting with various workplace health and safety tasks as required.

About You

We are looking for committed individuals with a strong focus on customer service who are enthusiastic about maintaining outdoor environments within an educational context.

  • Relevant qualifications at the Certificate level or equivalent experience related to the role of Grounds Maintenance Officer would be advantageous.

Mandatory Requirements

  • A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 and a valid Suitability Notice.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role safely.
  • Current Driver's License.
