About the Role

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team at Finity Consulting, a leading actuarial and analytical consultancy. As a Data Engineer, you will work with our consultancy and internal projects, delivering outcomes and interpreting data to resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Work directly with external clients to deliver outcomes within advisory and consultancy projects
Work with internal business and technical teams to interpret data and resolve data issues
Implement and support data workloads (ETL/ELT) using modern technologies such as Snowflake, Azure, Databricks, and dbt
Support internal software developers, data analysts, and data scientists on different data products and initiatives
Create internal solutions and frameworks to automate processes and implement best practices, standards, and patterns

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need a desire and passion to work with data. You will have:

Understanding of data warehouse and data lake concepts
Experience working with some of our tech stack (Microsoft Azure Data, Snowflake, Databricks, and dbt)
SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
Python knowledge is desirable
Experience implementing and supporting ETL/ELT
Experience in data profiling, data analysis, and data modeling
Data visualization/analysis using Power BI is a plus
Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as a Code (Terraform) is a plus
Problem-solving and self-learning skills
Self-motivated, capable of taking the initiative and contributing to the team

Working Arrangements

Hybrid work (3 days in the office) based in The Rocks, Sydney, NSW. Full working rights in Australia.
