Test and Integration Supervisor for Mining Technology

Your Role:
We seek an individual with a proven track record in testing and evaluating products that address real-world challenges. You will be an innovative thinker, eager to tackle diverse issues. As a self-motivated professional, you will take pride in seeing projects through to completion while balancing responsibilities between home and office. Occasional travel to client sites and internal facilities will enhance your expertise and expand your professional network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Underground Technology Global Integration Testing Team, engaging with stakeholders to meet schedule, process, and quality objectives.
- Supervise the creation of test plans for on-machine assessments of software updates and new functionalities.
- Manage the integration of new products on machinery and oversee new system implementations at the proving grounds.
- Lead a team of test engineers responsible for executing test cases, including the operation of underground mining equipment, autonomous systems, and technology under evaluation at Caterpillar Proving Grounds.
- Identify software and system discrepancies on machinery, analyzing related subsystems to assign corrective actions. Develop emergency containment strategies as necessary.
- Collaborate with subsystem teams to formulate interim and permanent solutions for identified issues.
- Document, track, and manage issues using Azure DevOps.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including planning for capital expenses related to the proving grounds.
- Occasionally assist in the installation and evaluation of both on-machine and off-machine hardware systems.
- Interface with technology product stakeholders to schedule testing and communicate software release timelines.
- Support commercial teams during customer engagement events at Caterpillar Proving Grounds.
- Assist training teams in developing programs for dealer and customer training.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science program.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Experience in the installation and testing of prototype mining technology hardware.
Desired Skills:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
- Experience in environments with highly functional heavy machinery.
- Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop or real system testing.
- Proficiency with software development tools.
- Knowledge of data link analysis.
- Experience with wireless communication networks.
- Leadership skills, including team building.
On-the-Job Skills:
- Operation of Caterpillar machines (both manual and remote-controlled).
- Familiarity with CAT Minestar product solutions for underground mining.
- Testing, troubleshooting, and data collection of underground mining technology equipment.
