Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Events & Coverage Producer who will produce detailed multi-platform coverage plans for key stories and events. This role is responsible for supporting teams to prioritise commissioning for digital platforms and ensure an efficient use of resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of current events and issues, monitoring a wide range of media outlets/sources.
  • Oversee the futures diary, communicate upcoming events with output platforms and relevant content teams, and initiate early planning process.
  • Ensure planning documents are clear, detailed, accurate and up to date.
  • Respond to breaking news with appropriate planning detail, calls and follow-up to ensure output needs are met.
  • Suggest and pitch story ideas that would be of interest to new and underserved audiences and contribute to planning and editorial meetings.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and planning skills.
  • Able to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of people in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of multi-platform content production and emerging technologies.
  • A demonstrated and ongoing interest and passion in finding and telling stories that reflect Australia's diversity.
