About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Operations Manager to join our team at The Australian Ballet. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely accounting operational support with a focus on resource management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit financial reports, including management and statutory reports, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide detailed commentary and analysis to support key stakeholder decision-making.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs to ensure key stakeholders have a clear understanding of financial information.
  • Manage and submit individual and consolidated annual cash flow statements for inclusion in the Annual Financial Report.
  • Ensure compliance with tax and grant acquittal requirements, including submission of ancillary tax reporting and grant acquittals.
  • Prepare and lodge financial support documents, including Australia Council Statistical Acquittals and Creative Victoria Statistical Acquittals.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to resolve queries and liaise with grant bodies as required.
  • Manage and lodge various compliance reporting submissions, including BAS, FBT, Franking Credit Returns, and Foreign Resident Withholding Tax forms.
  • Efficiently record, classify, and analyze The Australian Ballet's resources, including expense management, procurement practices, and contract management.
  • Manage tax-related reporting, including liaison with external advisors.
  • Provide financial input and support into strategic and business projects as required.
  • Manage inter-departmental relationships for various end-to-end processes, including venue settlements, scholarships, and contract payments.
  • Lead the selection, design, and implementation of an expense workflow management system integrated with existing technology infrastructure.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Professional accreditation as a CA or CPA.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role in a commercial environment.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working with Technology One or similar ERP system.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant accounting legislation and standards.
  • Experience in managing government grant processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
