Composite Technician Job

A composite technician with strong manufacturing skills is required to work on high-end luxury motor yachts.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in composite manufacturing and be able to effectively communicate and work in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure occupational health and safety standards are met at all times.
  • Deliver quality finishes to gelcoated components.
  • Oversee the final processing of manufactured GRP components.
  • Meet deadlines for delivering completed parts.
  • Implement continuous improvement, efficiency, and housekeeping practices.
  • Maintain production molds, prepare, upkeep, and repair as needed.
  • Collaborate with laminating department managers to facilitate part and mold availability.
  • Order raw materials and consumables.
  • E nsure strict quality control measures are implemented and adhered to.
  • Assist with training and supervising apprentices.
Selection Criteria:
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • At least 5 years of composite technician or fiberglass manufacturing experience, preferably in boat building, in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain professional and composed under pressure.
  • Comfortable working in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Will ingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
