Volunteers are thoughtfully matched with a participant based on shared interests and backgrounds. Together, they engage in activities such as sharing a cup of tea, reminiscing over cherished memories, or participating in hobbies like playing cards or board games. These regular visits provide companionship, enhance social connections, and contribute positively to the well-being of older adults.

Key Objectives:

  • Offer companionship and emotional support to older individuals experiencing loneliness and isolation
  • Provide opportunities for social interaction and meaningful conversation
  • Enhance the quality of life for older adults through regular visits and engaging activities
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent conversational skills and the ability to relate to and empathise with a diverse range of older individuals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy and rights of clients
  • Flexibility and reliability in committing to regular visits
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to utilise digital systems
