About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our team as a Senior Procurement Officer.

Job Summary:

This is a challenging opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in their work. As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for delivering effective procurement services that ensure value for money and compliance with Queensland Government policies.

About the Role:
  • You will manage end-to-end procurement processes for various goods, services, and works.
  • You will develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organisational goals.
  • You will prepare and evaluate tender documentation and contract terms.
  • You will negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • You will advise internal stakeholders on procurement policies and best practices.
  • You will ensure compliance with legislation and policies.
  • You will maintain relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • You will contribute to process and system improvements.

The successful candidate will have experience managing complex procurement projects, preferably in government or large organisations. You will also have knowledge of Queensland Government procurement policies or the ability to learn quickly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing procurement projects from planning to contract management and evaluation.
  • Developing procurement strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Preparing tender documentation and contract terms.
  • Negotiating with suppliers.
  • Advising internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Contributing to process improvements.
Requirements:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in procurement, business, law, or related fields.
  • Experience at the AO6 level or equivalent, with a focus on procurement.
Skills:

Procurement, Contract Management, ICT, Goods and Services, Public Sector Experience.

Qualifications:
  • No minimum requirements, but a background in public sector procurement is highly regarded.
