Job Description:

We seek an experienced Environmental Specialist with a strong background in Australian environmental legislation to execute key deliverables for large-scale projects.

This role is responsible for integrating environmental considerations into project proposals, planning, regulatory permits and authorizations, design, and construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop effective working relationships with customers and external stakeholders on environmental matters.
  • Integrate environmental requirements into project plans, schedules, training programs, and subcontract documents.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure environmental aspects are addressed in their work packages.
  • Provide technical guidance on environmental mitigation measures, resilience controls, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Coordinate the implementation of sustainability initiatives with the GBU Environmental & Sustainability Manager.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a field of science (biology, ecology, geology, natural resources) or environmental engineering from an accredited university.
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in environmental management or permitting in the industrial, construction, or heavy engineering industry.
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and experiences of regulatory permitting processes.
  • Working knowledge of international financial institution environmental requirements and guidelines.
