Project Director, Environmental Conservation

The Project Director will be responsible for leading the terrestrial work of the Protecting Australia's Nature program, ensuring successful delivery of campaigns and initiatives.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity requires a motivated and experienced leader to drive environmental conservation efforts in Australia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective campaign strategies, setting achievable goals, and delivering results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages excellence, transparency, and mutual respect.
  • Manage and mentor members of the terrestrial team, providing day-to-day leadership, facilitating professional development, and promoting a healthy team culture.
  • Develop and implement innovative campaign strategies, set measurable goals, and achieve objectives.

This includes achieving global biodiversity targets and creating new models of river and floodplain protection for identified rivers in northern Australia.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Ten years of applicable experience in leading state and national campaigns, solving conservation needs.
  • Strong understanding of campaign strategy, diversity of strategic approaches to achieve outcomes.
