Job Description

The purpose of this role is to conduct high-level clinical/neuropsychological assessments and brief interventions beyond routine practice, responding to consumers and their families/carers impacted by acute mental health problems within a multidisciplinary team in an inpatient service.

This role involves duties of a complex and varied nature, with clinical decisions based on valid and reliable evidence. It is recognized as a reference point for other clinicians in the team.

About You
  • Ability to provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical/neuropsychological assessments, therapy, and interventions to consumers admitted to the service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with consumers, their families, carers, and other service providers, within a strong recovery framework, to achieve identified consumer outcomes.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision to less experienced psychologists and students on postgraduate placement, in accordance with professional guidelines.

  • General registration or eligibility for general registration with the relevant professional board is mandatory.
