Job Title: Senior Culinary Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Culinary Operations Manager to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional food services. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to oversee the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring seamless execution of meal services and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and presentation.Key Responsibilities:
  • Meal Service Coordination: Develop and implement effective meal service strategies to ensure timely preparation and delivery, while accurately forecasting and proactively managing additional needs.
  • Kitchen Hygiene & Presentation: Maintain clean, sanitized, and presentable kitchen areas, promoting a culture of hygiene excellence and compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Food Safety Compliance: Contribute to our Food Safety Program by identifying hazards, applying controls, and documenting incidents as required, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Operational Support: Provide operational support during surge operations or emergency contingencies, ensuring readiness and alignment with Defence Force operational plans.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor kitchen equipment and report issues to the Head Chef for timely repairs and minimal disruption, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Inventory and Stock Control: Participate in stocktakes and inventory management, ensuring accurate records and effective stock rotation, minimizing waste and optimizing resources.

About You:

  • Australian recognized Certificate III (or higher) in Commercial Cookery is essential.
  • Previous proven experience in a similar role is required, with a strong track record of leadership and team management.
  • A current Australian Driver's Licence is necessary, with a valid driver's license issued by a recognized authority.
  • Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards, relevant legislation, and statutory obligations is expected, with a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.

Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance, which requires you to be an Australian Citizen.
