Award-winning events professional sought to spearhead our dynamic events program across Australia.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced events manager to develop and deliver innovative industry-leading event activations, including author events, book signings, new release product launches, and new event formats such as business breakfasts. The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering innovative industry leading event activations including author events, book signings, new release product launches and new event formats eg: business breakfasts
  • Supporting and growing the member base and events calendar for our Literary Lunch Club
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with publishing houses, authors, publicists, and industry partners
  • Developing new partnerships with industry organisations to grow events in the professional space
  • The creation of a national and local events calendar
  • Ensuring that new book market trends are capitalised on, and plan effectively for the short, medium, and long term
  • Utilising multiple channels to generate interest in and maximise the uptake of our events
  • Coordinating venue hire, equipment hire and catering for external events
  • Preparing budget proposals for submission to internal and external parties
  • Preparing written proposals to publishers and other partners to secure internationally touring authors
  • Set up and pack down each of the events

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • Tertiary qualification in events, marketing, communications, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in an events role with experience/exposure to event planning and execution
  • Demonstrated experience in producing event proposals
  • Strong skills in stakeholder & project management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team
  • Experience within the publishing and/or retail sector is advantageous
  • A 'can-do' attitude with a strong attention to detail
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
