Position Overview
This role is pivotal in managing all facets of student financial inquiries and ensuring that all billing processes are executed accurately and efficiently. The Student Accounts Specialist is tasked with maintaining billing integrity and managing debtors effectively. Additionally, this position will deliver high-quality, customer-centric administrative support related to student finances, functioning as part of the campus student services hub. This role encompasses the entire student journey, from enrollment to graduation, consistently providing outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming phone and email inquiries from students regarding all aspects of tuition and fees, including non-tuition revenue, refunds, discounts, and scholarships, in alignment with company policies.
  • Develop and enhance processes concerning student withdrawals and deferrals, assessing their financial implications.
  • Conduct weekly reconciliations of international student deposits and provide monthly reports to the Head of Student Finance.
  • Perform financial checks as necessary.
  • Manage invoicing and payment processing for all domestic and international students, covering tuition, accommodation, and other fees.
  • Assist with FEE-HELP functions and related inquiries as needed.
  • Ensure that all staff interacting with students have accurate fee-related information.
  • Support the Head of Student Finance with data extraction and report preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant government regulations and the institution's financial policies.
  • Utilize the Student Information System (SIS) and other financial systems to fulfill these responsibilities.

Position Details
This is a full-time, permanent position.

Candidate Profile
To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • Prior experience in the higher education sector is preferred.
  • A background in finance or accounting is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • The capability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment, managing multiple systems and workflows during peak periods.
  • The ability to collaborate as part of a team while also taking initiative.
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
