Job Summary

The Early Childhood Regulatory Authority seeks an experienced Manager to lead the Licensing team in approving early childhood education and care providers under the National Quality Framework.

About The Role

In this position, you will provide leadership and direction to regulatory officers, make statutory decisions on licensing, and support regional office officers. You will be responsible for implementing consistent regulatory practice, making complex decisions, and providing high-quality guidance and training to the team.

Responsibilities Include
  • Managing the implementation of robust regulatory practices in accordance with good administrative decision-making principles and ECEC legislation.
  • Making complex decisions and advising senior management on regulatory matters while considering legal and policy implications.
  • Overseeing recommendations and decisions, as well as providing guidance and training to ensure quality, defensibility, and consistency.
  • Guiding individuals and the team in applying risk-based frameworks, identifying issues, and rectifying gaps in guidance and tools.
  • Anticipating risks, responding to trends through data analysis, and developing innovative solutions.
  • Identifying opportunities for collaboration and maintaining existing networks within the ECEC sector.
  • Negotiating successful outcomes and resolving conflicts through co-design and stakeholder relationships.
Your Skills and Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a regulator or decision-maker in accordance with good administrative decision-making principles.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Able to identify risks and emerging issues and provide advice and solutions.
  • Prior experience managing teams and complex matters.
