Job Title: Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have trade qualifications in heavy diesel mechanics, along with strong knowledge of mobile plant and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and belt replacements on XCMG and CAT mobile plant and equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and complete inspections on heavy mobile equipment, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Maintain accurate service records, ensuring compliance with site maintenance systems.
  • Collaborate with the leading hand and supervisors to ensure equipment availability and optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Raise work requests as necessary to ensure plant reliability and minimize downtime.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant Trade Certificate in Heavy Diesel or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a qualified tradesperson.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy mobile equipment, including XCMG and CAT models.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and implement repairs efficiently.
  • Basic welding skills and knowledge of safety procedures.
