Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate the negotiation and execution of research contracts with universities, funding organizations, industry partners, government departments, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Review, edit, and negotiate research agreements to ensure compliance with University policies and requirements.
  • Coordinate research funding contract management, including drafting variations, novations, data collection, and compliance monitoring.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with funding, awarding, and collaborating bodies.
  • Prepare recommendations on risk management and compliance regarding Deakin's policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the flow of contracts from initiation to execution, tracking progress and ensuring timely completion.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in Law or Business, or progress towards these qualifications, and extensive relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in commercial principles relating to contracts, including risk analysis and project costing.
  • Established track record in providing strategic advice on contracts to researchers.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Working With Children's Check (employee) or willingness to apply.
