About this opportunity

The Discipline Lead Occupational Therapist will provide advanced clinical services to mental health consumers in Forensic and Secure Services. This includes the professional governance and leadership of Occupational Therapy Services, as well as high-Level Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions.

Forensic and Secure Services comprise the state-wide High Security Inpatient Service, supra Hospital and Health Service Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit, and the Extended Forensic Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit.

This role is responsible for the professional and operational leadership of Occupational Therapists, Recreation Officers, and Clinical Assistants.

Additionally, the role may provide professional leadership to Occupational Therapists working in the Prison Mental Health Service, The Learning Centre, and Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced Occupational Therapy services
  • Lead the Occupational Therapy service, including Recreational Officers and Clinical Assistants
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to achieve shared goals
Requirements
