The Queensland Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grounds Maintenance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our school grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, including maintenance of a safe work environment, safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers, and fuels.
- Assist with a range of duties, including coordinating the removal and/or disposal of rubbish as required.
- Attend to/or arrange repairs and maintenance within the school, including those which relate to fences, paving, gates, and irrigation; swimming pools (e.g. maintaining proper water quality, testing water, keeping records of tests, adjusting/adding chemicals as consistent with WHS guidelines and procedures).
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in grounds maintenance and facilities management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
