
Youth Justice Restorative Practitioner

The Department of Communities and Justice is seeking a motivated individual to work in a role that involves preparing and facilitating Youth Justice Conferences following the principles of restorative justice.
- This position requires inviting and meeting with conference participants and facilitating the conference conversation and outcomes.
- It demands flexible hours including outside of business hours and weekend work.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, be comfortable working with and supporting a wide range of participants, and have an interest in working with young people, families, and victims of crime.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing for and facilitating Youth Justice Conferences
- Inviting and meeting with conference participants
- Facilitating the conference conversation and outcomes
- Working collaboratively and connecting with multicultural and Aboriginal young people, families, and victims
- Developing and maintaining community networks and relationships with local police, cultural groups, support services, and other community agencies
The successful candidate will be required to complete mandatory training and be willing to travel. A Working with Children Check clearance number is also required prior to commencing in the role.
