Job Role Overview

This is a unique role within our organization that focuses on providing daily living support, managing complex care needs, and employing trauma-informed practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personal care, manual handling, and administer medication to participants
  • Manage high-risk clinical care needs including seizure management, bowel care, hoisting, and wound care
  • Utilize positive behaviour practices to support participants with diverse backgrounds
  • Collaborate closely with allied health professionals, families, and Behaviour Support Practitioners
  • Lead by example and coach support workers on shift
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, care plans, and restrictive practice requirements
  • Assist in the onboarding of new team members and foster a positive team culture
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Hold a Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or Mental Health (a nursing degree is highly desirable)
  • Demonstrate at least 3 years' experience in delivering complex care, including high physical and clinical supports
  • Confidently manage hoists, bowel care, PEG feeding, and emergency response situations
  • Have a proven track record of working effectively with individuals who have mental health conditions, trauma backgrounds, or justice involvement
  • Exhibit calm and proactive behaviours under pressure while making sound decisions
  • Display a strong understanding of safeguarding principles, professional boundaries, and person-centred care approaches
  • Be available for a 24/7 rotating roster, including overnights and weekends
  • Meet NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid Certificate, and valid Driver Licence requirements
