Job Title: Research Data Engineer

About the Position

The Snow Centre for Immune Health is seeking a skilled researcher to join their team as a Research Data Engineer. This role will be embedded within the Research Computing Platform, where you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of bioinformatics pipelines and research data management tools.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, scientists, and clinicians to accelerate discoveries in immune health. Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement bioinformatics pipelines and research data management tools
  • Collaborate with the Research Computing Platform team to streamline research workflows and improve data compliance
  • Develop and maintain advanced tools and pipelines using modern research software technologies
  • Contribute to the development of high-performance computing and batch systems
Requirements
  • Graduate or postgraduate degree in bioinformatics, computationally intense discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, containers, and workflow systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
