About the Role

The Emergency Department at Northern Beaches Hospital provides 24/7 care to patients, with a large ground floor area divided into zones for assessment, pediatrics, short stay, adult acute, and mental health assessment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Nurse Unit Manager level 1.

Job Description

This full-time position involves providing leadership, clinical support, and direction to the department. You will be responsible for operational management, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources, and coordinating the delivery of nursing care based on evidence. Additionally, you will be accountable for managing human, financial, and material resources, maintaining customer service standards, and undertaking direct patient care when required.

Requirements

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Working with Children check
  • Previous experience as a Nurse Unit Manager level 1 or equivalent
  • More than 5 years of emergency nursing experience
  • Postgraduate qualification in emergency nursing
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong commitment to developing in a management role
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality clinical and customer-focused care
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Proven time management and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge base in labor management
  • Demonstrated human resource management experience
