The Opportunity
We are seeking a Chemical Process Specialist to join our Liquid Technical Services team in Campbellfield. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for processing various waste chemical streams, including treatment, consolidation, and repackaging.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Offer technical support to the operations team with regards to hazardous waste management
- Analyse waste samples from customers and sales team to confirm acceptance in accordance with site operating license and developing the best treatment option
- Preparation of batch sheets for operators to process waste
- Prepare sales quotes for customers and the wider Account Management team
- Assist the Operations Supervisor with the development of work instructions for waste treatment options
- Assist the Operations Supervisor to ensure compliance with site operating license
- Continuously looking for ways to improve treatment methodologies of current and future waste streams.
About You
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in solving problems and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment. Ideally, you will hold operational experience working with waste or hazardous chemicals.
- Degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in wastewater treatment facilities or chemical fixation and stabilization facilities will be highly desirable
- Field sampling or laboratory experience
- Sound knowledge in operating / calibrating ICP and Laboratory instruments
- Experience with Risk assessments and work instructions
- Meticulous record keeping skills in accordance with tightly regulated controlled waste environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of chemicals and applicable legislation relating to their use, storage and disposal would be advantageous
