Job Overview

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for demonstrating expertise in the payroll process and ensuring timely processing of scheduled runs. They will resolve issues and errors that hinder the payroll run from completion.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the payroll process and ensure timely execution of scheduled runs.
  • Manage reconciliation processes with associated reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accuracy of payroll postings to finance, as well as timely execution of bank file balancing and 3rd party payments.
  • Monitor statutory and legal changes in Australia and collaborate with Country Payroll Managers to implement timely adjustments to payroll systems, knowledge, and process management: STP reporting, payroll tax, superannuation etc.
  • Support Country Payroll Manager in performing self-audit, including risk management and control management over operational effectiveness compliance with applicable directives and regulations.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement projects, cost reductions, and process performance enhancements. Maintain CI implementation schedules for assigned projects, progress updates as required, and sufficient documentation.
  • Maintain effective communication with local senior stakeholders, regulators, and tax authorities.
  • Provide advisory support to local HR policy teams and HR Operations on process clarification or consultation.
  • E nsure proper retention and timely declaration of payroll records and control files as per Group Record Management.
  • Timely respond to employee queries via Salesforce and meet SLA requirements.
  • Contribute actively to the implementation of all changes impacting Australia payroll, including the Global Payroll Strategy.
