Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with mental health conditions and complex disabilities.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for assisting with daily living tasks, such as personal care and meal preparation, as well as providing emotional support and companionship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Prepare meals and snacks for clients, ensuring dietary needs are met.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging in activities that promote social interaction and well-being.
  • Administer medication, as required, under the supervision of medical professionals.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent).
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • A basic understanding of mental health principles and practices.
  • An NDIS Worker Orientation Module completion certificate.
  • A valid Working with Children card.
