Field Service Technician Role

The role of Field Service Technician involves delivering high-quality technical support to customers in their homes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.

Key aspects of the job include:

  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner, anticipating and addressing their concerns promptly.
  • Applying specialized tools and documented procedures to diagnose and complete repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Performing preventative maintenance activities according to documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
  • Escalating unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians or supervisors.
  • Completing required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Identifying additional service opportunities with customers.
  • Participating in training sessions aligned with skill and business requirements.
  • Maintaining service vehicles and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant health and safety policies, procedures, and legislation and reporting any issues or incidents to site management and supervisors.
  • Completing workshop repairs as necessary.

This role requires specific qualifications and competencies, including:

  • Hold an Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent qualification.
  • Have intermediate-level experience in workshop or field service settings.
  • Possess an intermediate level of knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
  • Preferred candidates will have heavy vehicle experience.
  • HR License is preferred but not essential.
