We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Family Violence Practitioner. This role is based in Seymour VIC and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by family violence.

The successful candidate will be part of a close-knit team responsible for providing face-to-face support, facilitating referrals, advocating for clients, and assisting with safety planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing case management for clients during their stay at the refuge, which typically lasts up to 8 weeks. The practitioner will assist with safety planning, advocacy, and support in navigating the housing exit process.
  • Managing referrals from external sources and advocating for clients within the broader family violence sector. The practitioner will connect clients with appropriate external agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Working closely with clients on life planning, including education, healthcare, and other essential services. The practitioner will help clients achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
  • Overseeing the management of properties to ensure they remain safe and supportive environments for clients.
  • Collaborating with a team of dedicated practitioners to contribute to a strong and supportive team dynamic.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • MARAM Training is mandatory.
  • Previous experience within Family Violence is highly desirable.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practice are essential.
  • Experience in a refuge or similar setting is preferred.
  • Adaptability and flexibility are key attributes for this role.
