Job Title: Health and Building Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Health and Building Surveyor. This role involves providing technical expertise and advice on health and building related matters.

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying, minimum one year's experience in a Local Government Development Control and Health environment, and relevant certifications such as Class C Drivers Licence and registration as a Building Surveyor - Restricted (All classes of Buildings).

About the Role
  • Provide technical expertise and advice on health and building related matters
  • Meet deadlines associated with assessment of applications and statutory certificates
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through clear and accurate advice
  • Represent the organization at meetings and interact with members of the public to guide development within the region
Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess applications and provide recommendations for approval or refusal
  2. Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with legislative requirements
  3. Develop and implement strategies to promote and demonstrate core values and behavioural requirements
  4. Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying
  • Minimum one year's experience in a Local Government Development Control and Health environment
  • Relevant certifications such as Class C Drivers Licence and registration as a Building Surveyor - Restricted (All classes of Buildings)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact at all levels on technical advice and policy issues
