Cadence US is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior RTL to GDS Principal Application Engineer to join our North America Field Applications Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support to our customers in the areas of Backend Digital Design Implementation and Signoff, including Place and Route, Design Closure, and timing/power signoff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance to customers on how to best utilize Cadence technologies to achieve their design goals and meet project schedules.
  • Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the capabilities of our EDA tools and methodologies.
  • Drive technical evaluations and benchmarks to success, working closely with our R&D team to enhance our tools and methodologies.
  • Work closely with customers to capture best practices and lessons learned from current evaluations and benchmarks, and utilize this information to improve efficiency and success rates in future engagements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8+ years of design/EDA experience, with a strong background in Digital Design Fundamentals, Semiconductor fundamentals, and Static Timing Analysis.
  • Prior experience with IC digital implementation flows and backend EDA tools, including Place and Route, IR Drop, backend design timing and power closure.
  • Experience with advanced nodes 10nm and below, and scripting languages such as Tcl/Perl/Python.
  • Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills, with a strong personal drive for continuous learning and expanding professional skill sets.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical, Engineering, or related field.
  • Prior experience with IC digital implementation flows and font-end EDA tools, including Synthesis, DFT, and Logical Equivalence Checking.
  • Prior experience with Cadence tools such as Genus, Innovus, Conformal, Tempus, Modus, and/or Voltus.
