About the Role

The Technical Lead (Digital) will play a key role in delivering high-quality solutions for Energy Australia's customers. This position requires close collaboration with Development Leads, Business Analysts, Architects, and other technical specialists to drive innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead a team of development and quality engineers to deliver features for Energy Australia and our Product Owners.
  2. Develop and ensure the quality of solutions matching the intended solution architecture for Digital - specifically Customer accounts & applications.
  3. Drive and ensure a test-driven and quality-led culture by building systems that prove their correctness using tools such as TDD, BDD, CI/CD, and automation.
  4. Provide input into solution architecture direction of Digital by contributing to continuous delivery and improvement opportunities and working with Solution Architects in projects where required.
  5. Ensure software development metrics are accurate, measured, and where areas for improvement are identified, are communicated.
Requirements

You will have experience delivering quality digital solutions in large software development teams and exposure to Agile or Dev Ops delivery environments in both general and technology-specific applications.

Some of the key competencies required for this role include:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems or formal training through a focused, reputable provider (e.g. General Assembly) desirable.
  • Strong experience developing solutions for Integration products delivered to production.
  • Experience leading small teams of development and quality engineers.
  • Strong understanding of building solutions for Windows Azure, AWS, or other cloud vendors.
  • High-quality interpersonal skills in both written and verbal communication with a knack for building positive relationships.
  • Strong understanding of architectural patterns, test-driven development, and test automation.
  • Experience using Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, Gitlab/Github/Bitbucket highly desirable.
  • Strong development skills in one or more of the below or an equivalent:
    • JavaScript/TypeScript (server and/or client-side)
    • Angular/REACT/Java/Kotlin/Swift/Kotlin Multiplatform
    • Nest JS
    • PHP/Drupal
