We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the appearance of our site, attending to any maintenance issues as they arise, and ensuring the rooms and facilities are clean and well-maintained.

The role involves performing a variety of tasks, including:

  • Maintaining garden beds, including pruning, weeding, fertilizing, replanting, mulching, and hedging as required.
  • Mowing and edging areas as indicated on the site plan or as directed by your Manager.
  • Collecting rubbish bins from around the site for disposal.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the pool and pool area in accordance with procedures (if applicable).
  • Ensuring there is a maintenance register in place to record equipment servicing and repairs.

You will also be responsible for ensuring all common areas are kept in a clean and tidy state, including cleaning Leisure Centre facilities & offices and other work areas so that health standards are met.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current 'C' class drivers license (site dependent).
  • A national police check.
  • Demonstrated capability and experience in carrying out basic maintenance of facilities and grounds.
  • Demonstrated capability and experience in carrying out cleaning duties.
  • Good written and communication skills.
  • Ability to respond well to emergency situations.
  • A proactive team player.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Initiative to resolve and/or highlight any issues that may be foreseen.
  • High levels of customer service.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Confident and proficient at reasoning with people.

This is a full-time position combined of 28 hours Grounds & Maintenance work and 10 hours cleaning work per week.
