Job Details

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a cleaner at one of six centres in Townsville.

This is a permanent part-time role offering 37.5 hours per week, with fixed shifts from Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm.

About the Role
  • Cleaning floors using manual or mechanical cleaning equipment (mops, vacuum cleaners, floor cleaners)
  • Emptying rubbish and recycling bins, ensuring bin liners are replaced and bins are kept clean and free from smell
  • Laundry washing and folding
  • Dusting and tidying of all assigned areas, rooms and furniture
  • Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and kitchens
  • Washing windows, walls, mirrors and glass surfaces and ensure they are streak-free
  • Ensuring bathrooms are stocked with all necessary items including soaps, toilet paper, hand towels, etc.
  • Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and materials
  • Ensuring that chemicals and cleaning products are handled and stored safely
  • Responding to scheduled and ad-hoc cleaning requests
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a cleaner in an educational or commercial setting (highly regarded, but not essential)
  • Current Blue Card or willingness to obtain
  • Appropriate knowledge of cleaning products, safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals, or willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow directions, policies and procedures
  • Ability to work autonomously and have a strong Work Health and Safety focus
  • A flexible approach and attitude with excellent communication skills
