National Transport Strategy Specialist

Job Description: With an increased focus on client-side technical advisory and early in the value chain opportunities, we are looking for a highly accomplished transport planning leader to provide technical direction, mentorship, and leadership to our national transport planning team.

• Provide technical direction to transport planning projects and workstreams;
• Undertake the role of project director or project manager on large transport planning assignments;
• Providing technical advice to support our clients in addressing their transport challenges;
• Lead business development activities, including supporting the account management of key accounts;
• Oversee transport planning bid development;
• Contribute to the development and execution of the wider advisory, planning, and technology business unit's strategy and achievement of targets; and
• Participate in global forums relevant to transport planning.

Key Accountabilities:

Team leadership, including line management of the national transport planning team;
Technical direction to transport planning projects and workstreams;
Project direction or project management on large transport planning assignments;
Providing technical advice to support clients in addressing transport challenges;
Leading business development activities;
Overseeing transport planning bid development;
Contribute to the development and execution of the wider advisory, planning, and technology business unit's strategy and achievement of targets;
Participate in global forums relevant to transport planning.

Qualifications & Experience:

Importantly, you will share our passion for improving the quality of life and having a positive influence on the way people use our transport network. We are seeking a highly experienced transport planner with experience in a broad range of projects, including but not limited to:

• Policy and guidance
• Strategy development
• Multi-modal transport plans
• Place-based transport plans
• Movement and place frameworks
• Options analysis
• Business case development

You will have:

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
• Membership and/or active involvement with relevant industry bodies (e.g., AITPM)
• Previous consulting experience with a strong track record of client delivery
• Established client and industry networks
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to direct reports and proposals, lead meetings, prepare, and deliver presentations to a high standard
• Experience in leading multi-discipline project teams
• Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership
