Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality support services to students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ensure external providers meet service requirements.

Selection Criteria:

  • Qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of communication development in children.
  • Knowledge and understanding of language disorder in relation to students from non-English speaking backgrounds.
  • Ability to provide consultancy speech pathology services for students, working closely with staff to manage individual students' language development needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise and work with other specialist staff, both in school and external support agencies.
  • Preparedness to communicate progress to parents.

Role Overview:

Attendance is only required during school terms.

This role is part of the Victorian Government's education support services, providing critical support to students, teachers, and parents.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in speech pathology and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Features:

  • Range 4 management responsibility, particularly in finance, human resources, and other support functions.
  • Management of a range of functions under various conditions, subject to school size and complexity.
  • Clear objectives, broad guidelines, and minimal day-to-day direction.
  • Key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council.
  • Liaison with the general school community, the Department, and other government agencies and service providers.
