Job Role

This is a pivotal position within the implementation of the National Firearms Register (NFR), supporting the provision of NFR related policy review and development of policy initiatives.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing input to policy development;
  • Performing project management and support activities, collating data and providing analysis and advice;
  • Developing clear policy recommendations;
  • Collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships;

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information. They will work closely with the Firearms Registry Command team to implement the NFR, ensuring timely and effective delivery of key milestones.

We are seeking an experienced Policy and Project Officer to join our National Firearms Register (NFR) Project Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing policy development and project management support to the NFR Project Team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, applicants must possess:

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills;
  • Ability to interpret complex information and develop clear policy recommendations;
  • Experience in project management and policy development;
  • Strong relationships with stakeholders across government agencies;

Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check and obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the relevant authority.
