At Metso, we're committed to driving the industry towards a greener future. As a Field Service Technician, you'll play a crucial part in our mission by providing technical services to customers and ensuring the smooth operation of our Grinding Mills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform hands-on mechanical service work in the field to Metso customers.
  • Analyse equipment and machine component failures to identify root causes.
  • Provide technical support to customers and promote Metso products and services.
  • Supervise and oversee Field Service projects on customer sites.
  • Prepare post-site reports, time sheets, and expenses after site visits.
  • Support quotation work by providing scope of work, initial planning, and costing information.
  • Promote Technical Support value add and support Technical Support Teams.
  • Support warranty process and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) where applicable.
Requirements:
  • A Mechanical trade qualification from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the Mining industries working with Grinding Mills, and ideally Flotation and Thickeners.
  • Task experience to include but not limited to: Drive line installation and alignment, gearbox replacement.
  • Basic rigging and dogging understanding desirable.
  • Basic computer literacy in MS Office – Word and Excel.
  • Must have current motor vehicle license and passport.
  • Must be able to pass random medical and drug tests.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and mechanical schematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel within short notice.
  • Experience in the usage of databases and MS Project.
