Job Summary

The role of Principal Power Systems Engineer involves leading projects in the ADMS portfolio and serving as a technical support expert. This position requires broad exposure to the entire ADMS, focusing on advanced applications such as Distribution Power Flow (DPF), Fault Location Isolation & Service Restoration (FLISR), Volt/VAR Control & Optimization (VVC/VVO), Outage Management Systems (OMS) and Switch Order Management (SOM).

  • Leads projects in the ADMS portfolio and serves as technical support expert
  • Supports the implementation of control systems at electric utilities
  • Participates in design, planning, and execution of ADMS projects
  • Supports testing events with the customer
  • Works closely with functional development teams to troubleshoot, prioritize, and test product changes
  • Interfaces with the utilities Geographic Information System (GIS) teams to extract, translate, and load the electrical network model to the Distribution Management System
  • Interfaces with the utilities Customer Information System (CIS) teams to extract, translate, and load the customer model to the Outage Management System
  • Configures and integrates software components to meet contract requirement specifications and tests with customers
  • Supports training customers on how to operate the systems being delivered
  • Provides technical support to troubleshoot and resolve issues observed on live systems
About the Role
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; degree in Electrical Engineering, Power System Engineering or a related discipline
  • Min 5 years of experience in a Power System Engineering role including Outage Management System and Switch Order Management Application Engineering role
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex systems issues in software applications
  • Knowledge of system designs, computer systems, engineering practices, and control systems
  • Understanding of Electric Distribution Power Systems and modeling is preferred (Load Flow Studies, FLISR and VVC/VVO)
  • Familiarity with electric utilities operations and regulatory requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effectively manages time, and context switches between multiple competing tasks
