About Our Hospital

We are seeking a Registered Midwife to join our team in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate midwife to work in various areas, including the antenatal and postnatal wards, the Maternity Assessment Unit, the elective Caesarean list, and within both the Birthing Suite and the Special Care Nursery.

Responsibilities
  • You will provide high standards of evidence-based midwifery care to women of varying ages and cultural groups.
  • You will be committed to the delivery of woman-centred care in the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.

You will have the opportunity to work on the antenatal ward, in the Maternity Assessment unit, Birthing Suites, Postnatal ward, Cesarean lists, and/or in the beautifully renovated Special Care Nursery.

Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife;
  • Minimum of 2 years' recent experience working as a Registered Midwife in similar roles;
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised woman-centred care;
  • Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • Flexibility to work a seven-day roster including night duty;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check.
